Cristian Sandrin performs a unique piano recital in the oldest concert halls of Europe: the Holywell Music Room in Oxford. Showcasing the legacy of the great German writer E.T.A. Hoffmann and his influence on the subsequent Romantic generation of composers: J. Brahms. R. Schumann and P.I.Tchaikovsky, the concert will feature a rarely performed Sonata by E.T.A. Hoffmann himself.
Programme:
E.T.A.Hoffmann: Piano Sonata in F minor
J. Brahms: Four Ballades op. 10
R. Schumann: Kreisleriana op. 16
P.I.Tchaikowsky/Pletnev: The Nutcracker Suite
